Texas has so many beautiful and vastly different state parks. This is from Caprock Canyons State Park in Quitaque Texas and it is on my to do list of hikes. I sometimes ask permission from fellow hikers to use their images, and John was extremely kind and welcomed the idea. Here is an excerpt from his hike:
Heavy fog rolled in some time before sunrise and it was misty enough to start soaking our gear. We packed up from the Upper North Prong hike-in site, walked through the “pass” toward the parking lot and were a few hundred yards from the trailhead when we spotted this Bison off to the side, perfectly framed with the rock and the fog settled behind it. Pretty amazing way to end the trip.
