Texas Day's Series

Texas Day's Series

If you've kept up with me you know I've got some good things cooking for this year and am SO happy to announce the release of my first Texas Day's painting!  A few months ago I wanted to challenge my painting skills and work against the grain if you will and venture into a new style.  Have you ever cooked in someone else's kitchen and had to do thing's their way?  Well that's how I felt, totally awkward and at some point thought this painting was going to be a wash.  Until I finished it and stood back.  I fell in love!  Bolder brush strokes and vivid color, this new style challenges me to see shapes and values.

Taking a leap and trying something new is hard and can be scary, but learning and growing from the experience is worth the risk.  If you fail, you learn.  If you succeed you learn!

"Ripe" was created from a simple image of a peaceful barn in the distance of a farmer's field.  Rustic, aged, antiqued, all the words that are in high demand these days.  An old barn that has stood the test of time, has seen life come and go.  Been through stormy days and hot summer nights.  Sheltered and worn.  No word better described the feeling of a barn then Ripe.  Aged. Tested. Ready.
